I went this morning, and as I was jogging on an empty stomach, I thought about how my glycogen stores were probably depleted and I was using free fatty acids via beta-oxidation to obtain energy. hmm...i should consider loading up on carbs the night before if I plan on jogging in the morning next time.

Because you've only started running recently, isn't your body primarily metabolizing proteins via conversion to Acetyl-CoA and then the Citric Acid Cycle before it starts to metabolize fatty acids via beta-oxidation?
